High Speed 2

31 Dec 2009

The future of High Speed rail in the UK is to actually look beyond ‘today’ and plan for the future. I know, I was amazed to read the a UK transport policy could envisage the future. But anyway, the preliminary plan would see a proposed super station being built in London (possibly on the current Euston site) and the line being built from London to Scotland with the line being able to take trains up to 400 km/h (250 mph). What is more, the line will be completed by 2025, probably in stages. What a way to end the year! The complete plan will be detailed sometime early 2010.
